Andorra Guide

Andorra info & Overview

Andorra is a small independent principality nestled in the stunning Pyrenees mountains between Spain and France. Known for its tax-free status, it’s a popular destination for visitors looking for some great duty-free shopping whilst enjoying their Winter sport activities.

The country is home to several of Southern Europe’s best ski resorts with over 300km of pistes. Andorra is especially well regarded for its excellent ski schools and highly trained English-speaking instructors—making it an ideal destination for beginners and intermediate skiers. Andorra’s lively après-ski scene and wide range of off-piste activities also contribute to its reputation as one of Europe’s most affordable and enjoyable skiing locations.

Resorts in Andorra

Travellers typically fly into either Barcelona or Toulouse, where regular and reasonably priced shuttle services make it easy to reach Andorra.

The principality features two main ski areas. Grandvalira offers more than 210 km of pistes, stretching from the vibrant resort of Pas de la Casa to the family-friendly areas of Soldeu and El Tarter, both known for high-quality accommodation. Vallnord (Nordpass) connects the ski regions of Arinsal and Pal (La Massana) and also includes Arcalís-Ordino—together providing over 80 km of pistes and remaining a top choice for families and first-time skiers.
