Encamp Overview
Encamp is one of the main gateway villages to the Grandvalira ski area, offering quick and easy access to over 200 km of beautifully groomed slopes via the Funicamp gondola. Set in a peaceful valley, it’s a quieter and more relaxed alternative to some of Andorra’s livelier resorts, making it ideal for families, beginners, and anyone looking for a calm base with excellent skiing on the doorstep.
With its convenient location, good value accommodation, and direct lift connection to the slopes, Encamp blends traditional Andorran charm with all the benefits of a major ski domain. Whether you’re enjoying gentle runs, exploring the wider Grandvalira area, or simply taking in the mountain scenery, Encamp offers a comfortable and well-connected home for your ski holiday.
Encamp works for:
- Families and beginners who prefer a calm, relaxed base yet want access to a large ski domain.
- Skiers and snowboarders who value convenience and easy access via gondola to a big resort.
- Travelers looking for a balance between affordability, tranquility, and full ski-resort amenities.
- People who appreciate a slower-paced holiday with the option of hitting the slopes whenever they want.

Things to do in Encamp
From Encamp you can easily reach Grandvalira’s large ski and snowboard domain — but you also have time to enjoy the village charm, local culture and a gentler pace compared to more hectic resorts
The calm surroundings make Encamp a nice base for families or groups who want an alternative to the bustling nightlife of the bigger resorts, but still want quick ski-in/ski-out access.
For those interested in culture or history, the parish of Encamp features interesting local heritage (churches, rural architecture, traditional Andorran setting) outside the ski season.
There are a few good restaurants and places to eat in Encamp:
- Caliu d'en Josep — A cosy, family-run restaurant with Mediterranean / local cuisine. Known for its hearty dishes, friendly ambience and good lunch menu.
- La Mosquera — Traditional pizzeria & French-style restaurant. Great for pizzas, fondues and dishes inspired by the French owners. Conveniently located near the town hall.
- Borda de l'Hereu 1693 — A rustic “borda” with local mountain cuisine: grilled meats, mountain-style rice, and a cozy atmosphere. Good choice for a traditional Andorran meal.
- Restaurant Can Fontcuberta — Classic local restaurant ideal for breakfast, tapas and everyday meals with a menu-price good value. Laid-back atmosphere, good for a casual meal or a quick bite.
- Borda del Tremat — Traditional restaurant offering local cuisine; a good choice if you want a more authentic Andorran dining experience.
