Mayrhofen Overview

Set between two mountains, Mayrhofen’s local pistes are an intermediate’s paradise where you can clock up the kilometers cruising lots of linked reds and blues. There is also the Hintertux glacier which is covered on your ski pass

For those a bit more advanced you could also try the Harakiri which is the steepest run in Austria. For the snowboarders why not try out the Penken snowboard park

The après ski (dancing on tables to some dodgy tunes) starts from mid afternoon and then on the evening you can spend the night pubs or dancing in clubs. There are also plenty of hotels and cafes where you can enjoy a more relaxing drink or two should après ski not be your scene

Things to do in Mayrhofen

Lots of activities such as paragliding, sleigh rides, Ice skating, tobogganing and snow shoe walks as well as a local leisure center with a swimming pool.

Mayrhofen is famous for its fun and lively après scene. The parties start well before you leave the slopes and continue until the early morning in the bars and clubs on the resort's pedestrianised main street.

Ice bar

Next to the Ahorn gondola, Mayrhofen's coolest après spot

Pilzbar

At the Penken top station with an umbrella bar and terrace, pumping Europop and dancing on tables starts mid-afternoon.

Brückenstadl

Traditional Austrian après ski, a selection of dodgy and cheesy tunes with dancing on tables, live music and top DJ's.

Scotland Yard

Set in a London Underground-themed style, the basement of this old police station used to be where, ironically, drunks sobered up before starting all over again the next après ski party.
